Austin began his Chick-fil-A journey after discovering the brand’s commitment to developing young entrepreneurs. Shortly after marriage, he joined Chick-fil-A as a Team Member and leader under Operator mentorship, intentionally learning the business from the ground up. He later entered the Leadership Development Program, where he spent several years supporting grand openings and interim restaurant leadership across multiple states.
Through roles in interim management at core restaurants and grand openings, Austin gained experience stabilizing high-volume and high-complexity locations. In 2019, after years of preparation and interviews, Austin was selected as Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Chick-fil-A Beltway 8 & Hammerly Blvd. in Houston. Since opening, the restaurant has grown into a high-performing operation, navigating both rapid growth and post-COVID challenges while remaining people-focused and mission-driven.
Austin leads with a clear vision: “Inspiring others to strive for excellence through intentional acts of care.” This philosophy shapes the culture at Chick-fil-A Chick-fil-A Beltway 8 & Hammerly Blvd., where leadership development, hospitality, and personal growth are treated as essential—not optional.
The Rice family believes Chick-fil-A is a platform for lifelong impact, whether team members stay for a season or build long-term careers. Their restaurant emphasizes hiring for heart, cultivating a growth mindset, and helping people gain confidence and transferable leadership skills. With a diverse team and a growing operation serving the Houston community, Austin remains committed to creating a workplace where people feel seen, challenged, and supported — inside and outside the restaurant.
