Godwin joined Chick-fil-A in Wichita Falls in 2017 while looking for a job to help him through college. He immediately noticed something different about the people and culture at Chick-fil-A. The kindness of the team and the quality of the leadership stood out, and over time he realized the experience wasn’t temporary—it reflected who the organization truly was.
He spent six years in Wichita Falls, beginning as a Team Member and steadily working his way through the organization. Eventually, Godwin became Executive Director of Operations, serving alongside MaClay in leadership and helping his Operator expand to multiple restaurants.
In 2023, Godwin entered Chick-fil-A’s Leadership Development Program. Over the next three years, he traveled across the country, gaining experience in different restaurants, markets, and operational environments. Those experiences helped shape not only the kind of Operator he wanted to become, but the kind of experience he wanted his own restaurant to provide.
Godwin was selected as the Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Altamesa & McCart, with his transition into the restaurant beginning October 1, 2026.
Godwin’s vision for Chick-fil-A Altamesa & McCart is:
“We exist to be a city on the hill and a destination of wonder by creating positive memorable experiences.”
The vision reflects two priorities that became increasingly important to Godwin throughout his Chick-fil-A journey.
The first is creating a “destination of wonder.” After experiencing restaurants across the country through LDP, Godwin developed a desire to create an experience that goes beyond simply serving great food. He wants guests to leave surprised, delighted, and eager to return because of the way they were treated, the culture they encountered, and the memories they created.
The second is becoming a “city on the hill.” Godwin sees an opportunity for the restaurant to positively influence the community. His goal is for guests and Team Members to immediately recognize that they have stepped into a different environment—from the appearance of the restaurant to the smiles, hospitality, and care they experience inside.”
That vision extends directly into the culture Godwin hopes to build. He describes it as energetic, positive, and psychologically safe, grounded in five key pillars:
Feedback. Innovation. Grit. Humility. Teamwork.
Godwin wants to build a culture rooted in growth, humility, resilience, and teamwork—where Team Members challenge themselves, support one another, and take ownership of their development.
Leadership development will be a cornerstone of his restaurant, with long-term goals of developing future Chick-fil-A Operators and creating internship opportunities with nearby colleges. Godwin looks for coachable, reliable, and ambitious people who are working toward something meaningful, believing the restaurant skills can be taught when the right mindset is already there.
