James Goewey is a highly motivated individual who enjoys working with and encouraging his staff. He is passionate about giving others the same opportunity for growth that he was fortunate to have been given years ago. Someone saw something in him, believed in him, and steered him in the direction of being a small business owner. James has a remarkable track record for developing others, including three successful Owner/Operators and two more moving through the process.
He, his wife, and their children have enjoyed serving the thriving South Hickory team and community for the last nine years.

Chick-fil-A Story
James began his employment at Chick-fil-A at just fifteen years old. After graduating college, he was accepted into Chick-fil-A Corporate’s Leadership Development Program, setting him on a trajectory for entrepreneurship. In less than two years, James was selected to be an Owner/Operator, serving at two Delaware locations before moving closer to home in North Carolina.
Vision and Values
Owner/Operator, James, is enthusiastic about supporting the next generation. He collaborates with various organizations, including North Carolina Boys Academy, Exodus House, and local high schools & community colleges. Their store’s Core Values set their culture:
