While pursuing a Marketing degree at the University of Kentucky, Josh Alexander began his Chick-fil-A journey as an Intern to the Marketing Director, where he quickly developed a passion for business operations and people leadership under the mentorship of Owner/Operator Bruce Smith. After graduating, Josh continued growing within the restaurant, serving in roles ranging from full-time cashier to leadership over the next five and a half years.
In 2015, Josh was selected as a Chick-fil-A Owner/Operator in Louisville, Kentucky, leading a local mall restaurant before transitioning to Chick-fil-A Sycamore Square in 2019. Throughout his leadership journey, Josh has remained deeply committed to building a culture centered on integrity, humility, continuous learning, and genuine care for people. Influenced by leaders like Truett Cathy and Bruce Smith, Josh often reflects on the simple but impactful principles that guide his leadership: “Do business the right way and take care of your customers” and “Live and Learn.”
Under Josh’s leadership, his team has earned multiple Chick-fil-A awards, and he has helped develop leaders who have gone on to serve in Chick-fil-A’s Leadership Development Program.
At Chick-fil-A Simi Valley our purpose is to: Build legacies that inspire. We do this by making decisions and choices through the lens of our Business Framework.
