Joyce’s Chick-fil-A journey began at just 15 years old when she joined one of the first freestanding Chick-fil-A restaurants in Georgia. Encouraged by her Operator, Glenn, she quickly advanced—learning inventory, accounting, and shift leadership before graduating high school. After building a successful marketing career and earning her MBA, Joyce felt called to return to the brand that shaped her values. When Chick-fil-A began expanding in Michigan, she knew her home state was where she could make the greatest impact. Years of preparation led to her selection as the Operator of Chick-fil-A Ann Arbor, set to open in late 2025—a dream she’s pursued since 2017.
Joyce’s mission is “to be a place of care for our guests, our team, and our neighbors through craveable food, genuine hospitality that welcomes all, and an uplifting culture that spreads into our community.” In Ann Arbor, she’s especially focused on bridging bridges across (or throughout) the wide diversity of Ann Arbor and it’s surrounding communities—through opportunity and service. Her leadership philosophy centers on mentorship: identifying and developing the next generation of leaders, whether they stay with Chick-fil-A or carry those values into other careers. Joyce is passionate about giving every team member a sense of belonging and purpose from day one.
