Chick-fil-A Story

Kevin’s journey with Chick-fil-A began with one of his friends requesting him to be a reference for his own pursuit of becoming an Operator/Owner. At that time, Kevin didn’t know much about one of the largest fast food chains in America but became a student after speaking with a Chick-fil-A representative for the referral. Kevin was a part of ethical organizations, but the idea of running his own business founded upon biblical principles intrigued him.

He began reading Truett Cathy’s books and eventually applied to the rigorous process of becoming a Chick-fil-A franchisee in 2006. He was eventually selected to own and operate the first free-standing Chick-fil-A in King of Prussia, PA in 2013. Kevin has a strong desire to serve his community as well as his employees while pointing them to lead in their everyday lives.

COMMUNITY IMPACT
Next Generation of Leaders

“My goal is to mentor young people and see them have the skills they need to be successful in whatever endeavors they choose. And for those individuals who are older, I’d like to see them develop the competencies to stay with me long term.”

-Kevin McDavid

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO MAKE CHICK-FIL-A A CAREER OR BECOME AN OWNER/OPERATOR?

“What I love most about being an Owner/Operator is having the ability to create a vision for my Team Members while providing a valuable service to our community. I like to be an employer of opportunity. I like to take young people who can start in their teens and grow with the business, some of them will stay 6-8 years. It’s nice to be able to see the impact day in and day out. I enjoy the people aspect and pouring into people’s lives daily.“
