Phil Whitsel, Michigan native, was selected as the Owner/Operator of the Northville Chick-fil-A in 2020. He left a successful mall industry of 18 years to begin his entrepreneurial journey with Chick-fil-A just two years prior to becoming an Owner/Operator. Through his leadership tenure, he continued to develop a desire for purposeful work, extending care wherever he went.
Phil and his wife of 20 years, Amanda, aim to serve not only within the walls of their small business but in their surrounding community as well. They have three children and have enjoyed residing close to family these last few years.

Chick-fil-A Story
“I get asked frequently about what it’s like to be a Chick-fil-A Owner/Operator. Well, it has been an incredible journey for me and my family over the past few years, and although it is really hard work, it is incredibly rewarding. I know, I know, that’s a little cliche, but when you find your purpose and get the opportunity to live it out almost every day (we’re closed on Sundays if you didn’t already know), it’s an incredible feeling.
I came to the realization a few years ago that I am wired to serve people, and that’s why it’s rewarding to me. Seriously, some days I just get pumped up about getting to love and serve a restaurant full of people, whether it’s guests or team members. Now I’m still learning how to be a business owner and how to become a better Operator, but nothing beats that feeling of fulfillment I get when I serve my people.”
