Chick-fil-A Story

Richard’s Chick-fil-A journey began while attending the University of Alabama, where he completed an internship at his future father-in-law’s restaurant. After graduating in 2014, he continued building his leadership experience at Chick-fil-A Greystone in Birmingham under Brent Fielder, where he spent more than three years developing operational and leadership skills.

In 2019, Richard entered Chick-fil-A’s Leadership Development Program (LDP), serving restaurants across the country through grand openings, interim leadership assignments, and operational support. During this season, he gained extensive experience helping restaurants navigate growth and change, including the unique challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following his time in LDP and additional leadership experience in Nashville, Richard was selected as Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Vicksburg. Since taking over the restaurant in December 2024, he has focused on strengthening operations, improving culture, developing leaders, and elevating the guest experience. Under his leadership, the restaurant has experienced significant growth while earning recognition throughout the community for service, hospitality, and operational excellence.

Vision and Values

Richard’s mission for Chick-fil-A Vicksburg is simple and powerful:

“To be a beacon of light to Vicksburg.”

He believes this mission extends in two directions. First, every guest should leave having had a better experience because they visited the restaurant. Second, every team member should leave better because they worked there. Richard views Chick-fil-A as more than a place to buy food; it is an opportunity to create positive change in people’s lives.

Since arriving in Vicksburg, Richard has become deeply involved in the community through partnerships, local events, leadership programs, and charitable initiatives. His restaurant was recognized in multiple community-voted categories, including Best Chicken, Best Breakfast, Best Fast Food, Friendliest Service, and Best Kids Meals. He was also named among Vicksburg’s Top 20 Under 40 leaders.

Richard is passionate about creating opportunities for people who simply need someone to believe in them. Through leadership development, mentorship, and meaningful work experiences, he is helping build stronger futures for both his team and the Vicksburg community.

COMMUNITY IMPACT
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO MAKE CHICK-FIL-A A CAREER OR BECOME AN OWNER/OPERATOR?
“We’re going to take care of the customers and make their day better because they came here. And we’re going to give people an opportunity to do something with their life. Hopefully their life becomes better because they’re working at Chick-fil-A.”
