Prior to embarking on his journey as a Chick-fil-A owner, Scott dedicated over 23 years to serving as a pilot in the United States Marine Corps. His military service around the globe provided a unique perspective that helped shape his values. He developed strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep sense of responsibility which carried over to his career as an entrepreneur.
Scott is an avid reader who is always looking to grow personally and professionally, applying new insights to his leadership style. He and his wife, Kelly, have 5 children together, and in 2023, the Payne’s opened Chick-fil-A Clifton Park Center. Dedicating themselves to serving Saratoga County, they look forward to creating meaningful connections and making a positive impact.

Chick-fil-A Story
After retiring from the Marines, Scott sought a career where he could continue leading and serving others, which led him to Chick-fil-A. He initially became the Owner/Operator of a location in Virginia, where he quickly built a reputation for developing strong teams and fostering a positive work culture. Seeking to broaden his influence, he and his family moved to Albany, New York, where he now operates the new Chick-fil-A at Clifton Park Center. His transition from military service to business ownership reflects his deep commitment to service, leadership, and community involvement, making Chick-fil-A the perfect fit for his next chapter.

Scott aims to create a positive and growth-focused environment for his teams, helping them develop both professionally and personally. He understands that a thriving restaurant is built on empowered people, and strives to actively mentor his employees.
